24/01/2025, Bowring Institute, Bangalore, India – NUTRICON 2025 concluded with great success at the renowned Bowring Institute in Bangalore. Organized by Ultimate You, an innovative nutraceutical brand under Mama’s Creation Private Limited, the conference brought together thought leaders from the nutrition and healthcare sectors.
The event, conducted in partnership with Sagar Chandramma Hospitals and the Indian Association of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (IAPEN), spotlighted cutting-edge advancements and trends in nutritional science. This collaboration offered a holistic exploration of clinical and consumer-centric nutritional solutions, setting new industry standards.
The conference began with a keynote by Namratha Pramod, High-Performance Analyst at Sports Authority of India (SAI). Specializing in circadian rhythms and chrononutrition, she emphasized optimizing eating patterns to improve health outcomes. According to the IFPRI 2025 report, 38% of Indians consume junk and processed foods, disrupting circadian rhythms and increasing risks of obesity, Type II Diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases. Chrononutrition emphasizes the importance of time, frequency, and regularity in eating habits.
Rinki Kumari, Senior Dietitian at Fortis Hospital, discussed nutrition’s pivotal role in recovery from surgeries such as Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) and hemicolectomy. She stressed that personalized nutrition interventions can significantly enhance patient outcomes. Highlighting workplace stress, she noted that remote workers often face elevated stress levels, making tailored nutrition critical. Medical professionals rely on total parenteral nutrition (TPN) to support recovery, showcasing its importance in modern healthcare.
Akshith Reddy, Co-founder of Ultimate You, addressed India’s pressing issue of nutrient deficiencies. He revealed findings from the Journal of Nutrition, stating over 70% of Indians have vitamin D deficiencies, while 53% of women suffer from iron deficiency anemia. With India’s nutraceutical market projected to grow to $18 billion by 2025 at a 21% CAGR, Akshith underscored the opportunity to address these gaps through innovative products.
He presented Ultimate You’s range of products—Ultimate Greens, Glow, Collagen, Fiber, and Daily Whey—designed to seamlessly integrate into daily diets and cater to specific nutritional needs. With the rising demand for plant-based proteins and gut health supplements, these products embody scientific advancements and consumer-friendly solutions. Akshith’s philosophy resonates with research in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, which emphasizes that simplifying nutritional choices enhances adherence and health outcomes.
“In the digital age, simplifying food choices is essential as too many options often lead to unhealthy decisions. As a direct-to-consumer brand, we focus on merging modern science with traditional methods, delivering products that prioritize quality and taste,” said Akshith.
Sreemathy Venkatraman, Chief Dietitian at Trustwell Hospital, delved into the relationship between gut health and hormone balance through the estrobolome. Backed by an NCBI report, she highlighted how dietary interventions could enhance oestrogen metabolism and gut-brain axis health. Supplements targeting the estrobolome were shown to be particularly effective for women’s health.
Madhumitha Krishnan, Consultant with CABHN at TDU, advocated integrating Ayurveda and modern nutrition for holistic wellness. Citing the World Health Organization, she emphasized that 70–80% of the global population relies on herbal remedies. Ayurveda’s personalized approach to nutrition, focusing on digestion (Agni) and constitution (Prakruthi), provides a natural foundation for preventative care.
Looking ahead, NUTRICON aims to foster further innovation and collaboration in nutrition, promoting healthier lifestyles across diverse communities.
